Glory Mural

“Glory” is a mural featured in the “To Illuminate Abundance” exhibition, January 2023-May 2023.

This piece is a visual representation of the liberatory act to fully exist, breathe, and be in spaces originally meant to harm Black women, transformed into spaces that honor, admire, glorify their magnificence. The word “glory,” in this case, represents not only the technical definition of a “high renown or honor won by notable achievements” or a “magnificence or great beauty,” but is in reference to the naked Black woman’s form and her natural afro as the glory of her head.
